CHILDREN and staff of a Flintshire school have been left 'deeply saddened' following a burglary as vital tools were stolen.

The incident took place sometime between October 28 and November 19 at Ysgol Bryn Pennant Primary School, North Wales Police have said.

It involved Forest School tools and equipment being stolen from shipping containers at the Mostyn-based school.

NWP are now investigating the matter and asking anyone with information to come forward and help them.

PCSO Mathew Griffiths, of the NWP North Flintshire team, said: "Some time between October 28 and November 19, Bryn Pennant Primary School has been subject to a burglary.

"It is believed that the offenders have gained access into one of the shipping containers were a number of tools have been stolen. If anyone has information please contact 101 quoting Q174600."

Speaking to the Leader, a spokesperson for the school said that this was not the first time that they had been hit by thefts.

They added: "The children and staff of Ysgol Bryn Pennant were deeply saddened to discover that our Forest School tools and equipment have been stolen. 

"Children from Nursery to Year 6 look forward to their Forest School sessions and love learning in the outdoors.  The tools and equipment that have been taken are an important part of this experience. 

"Staff, families and children, as well as members of our wider community, have worked hard together to develop our Forest School. 

"We have been victims of vandalism and theft in the past and we are very disheartened to be in this situation again."
