THE OWNER of a post office and pharmacy that suffered a robbery last week has been "moved" by the "overwhelming" response from the community.

The incident occurred at Pharmacy Coedpoeth, which also contains a post office, last Wednesday.

North Wales Police said that two suspects had entered the building before demanding money from the till. They then made off on foot before reportedly running up Tabor Hill.

The pharmacy reopened later on the day of the incident, but the post office - in which the robbery took place - was closed until yesterday (Tuesday, November 19).

Dhimant Patel, owner of the pharmacy, said while he couldn't go into the specifics of what happened, staff have been left "shaken" following the incident.

"They were successful in taking items, our staff were unharmed but have been left shaken," he told The Leader

"The police and the Post Office have offered us support, and we're appealing for anyone with any information which could assist the police investigation to contact them.

"The police have told us that it's an extremely rare incident, and that they have no ongoing concerns of any repeat incidents."

Mr Patel thanked the community for their support following the robbery.

"The response from the community has been truly overwhelming," he said. "They have been bringing us biscuits, and cards to let us know we're in their thoughts - it's been really touching.

"We'd ask for a bit of understanding that our postal services may be slightly delayed as we look to get back on our feet, especially now with the snow, but we're keen to move on and we're working hard to get back on track."

North Wales Police (NWP) has said investigations into the robbery remain ongoing.
