THE WREXHAM Clothing Exchange is all set to mark its fifth birthday this weekend.

The volunteer-run monthly clothes swap takes place at Lle Hapus in Eagles Meadow.

On Saturday (November 23), it will proudly mark its fifth anniversary with a community celebration filled with delightful treats.

All attendees in line when the doors open at 11am at Lle Hapus will receive complimentary prosecco and cake on admission to celebrate this milestone.

Wrexham Clothing Exchange lead organiser and trustee, Sharon Rogers said: “Since it began, Wrexham Clothing Exchange has grown from zero to 1,085 members, 17,000 items have been swapped meaning between 34 and 68 tonnes of CO2 has been saved and a similar amount from landfill."

Ms Rogers added: "Over the past five years, it has offered individuals a space to refresh their wardrobes, support sustainable fashion, and engage with like-minded people who value reducing waste and promoting reuse.

"The event will be a vibrant celebration of these efforts and the loyal customers who have made the Clothing Exchange a thriving hub for change.

“Our fifth anniversary is a testament to the Wrexham community's dedication to sustainability and creativity. We couldn’t have come this far without the support of every single person who’s swapped, donated, or simply shown up to be a part of what we do.

"This milestone celebration, with free prosecco and cake, is our way of saying thank you.

“On behalf of the Wrexham Clothing Exchange, I invite everyone to come join the festivities, discover new wardrobe gems, and toast to another five years of promoting eco-conscious living and style."

Admission to the celebration is £3, with doors open at 11am on Saturday, November 23.
