"We're looking not just to be a shop that people pop in and out of, but more a destination that people can spend longer at," she added.

The shop is open Tuesday-Friday from 9am to 5.30pm, 9am-5pm on a Saturday and 9am-4pm on Sundays.

Llay county councillor, Rob Walsh, welcomed news of the farm shop's opening. He said: "I am so pleased that the Rackery Farm Shop has opened. This will be a fantastic asset to the village. I know that both Larissa and Jake have worked so hard to get it up and running.

"Now that it is here I have no doubt that local residents and those from further afield will visit in good numbers. I remember when planning permission was granted, some were not in support and thought this was a bad decision.

"Personally, I think this is one of the best planning decisions ever made in Wrexham. A viable economic venture that is fully supported by the public. You cannot get much better than that. Wishing Larissa, Jake and everyone associated all the very best going forward."
