SEVERAL dogs at a Flintshire-based rescue are currently hoping to find their 'fur-ever' homes.

Skylor’s Animal Rescue, at Dobshill, is a small but passionate foster-based dog rescue in Dobshill that is run by a family.

The charity rescues dogs who are unwanted and abandoned, as well as pets who can no longer stay with their family, or in other certain circumstances such as ex racing greyhounds etc.

Last week, the Leader reported that the rescue is currently looking for a forever home for Cane Corso Nigel, who has been with them for over 460 days.

But, it's not just him who is currently hoping to find some loving paw-rents to look after him.

Here some of Skylor's other furry friends who are searching for their forever homes.

To potentially adopt one of the dogs, contact Skylor's through their website or by calling 07766 112612.

Skylor's say: "Meet new girl Apple. Born 13/01/2022. She has just come into our care from racing kennels but has never raced.

"She is a very active girl full of fun and energy. Good with other dogs, she was kennelled with two others and has just gone into a foster home with three male greyhounds.

"She does have a high prey drive so will need a home with either another similar sized dog or an only dog and owners that understand what this means.

"She is a gorgeous young girl who will make a great addition to a family she is full of life and makes you smile with her antics."

Lilly

Skylor's say: "D.O.B. 2/6/2011.She is 13 years old and has been in our rescue for far too long.  If you need a house companion Lily is the one.

"Found as a stray, taken to the pound, she had done her seven days and was due to be put to sleep. Owners didn’t come for her so we stepped in and gave her a safe place.

"She’s been to the vets for a health check and vaccinations. She does have a couple of small lumps but nothing to worry about on her head and legs.

"This old girl deserves a new loving home with someone who will love her for the rest of her life.

"Do not let Lilly's age fool you though she is still very active and playful and is constantly on the go."

Oakley

Skylor's say: "She came in as a unclaimed stray in a horrendous emaciated condition. She was scheduled to be put to sleep, which we could not let happen.

"She immediately went into foster care and has received tons of TLC - and good regular meals and is now back to full health.  She looks amazing and is ready to find her own 'furever' home.

"She has been in foster so is learning all she needs to know. She’s good with other dogs but can be a little over zealous so we feel she would be best as the only dog in the home.

"All she needs is patience, love and guidance. Oakley is a absolute joy to be with.  She needs someone who is willing to train her and spend time with her - she is a cracking little dog who will make someone an amazing companion."

Mort

6/7 year old Terrier cross

Skylor's say: "Mort came to us a scared and unsocial lad and went straight into foster with Julia and Mei. We were told he was not good around other dogs and snappy at people but he's come on on leaps and bounds.

"He is a dog you let come to you when he is ready. Going straight in to pick up and cuddle would scare him.

"He is brilliant to walk on a lead and enjoys adventures up in the hills near where we live. He does not have a consistent recall...yet. Mort would be best living in a calm home with other dogs, who can help him move forward into a lovely life that he so needs.

"The person who is lucky enough to adopt Mort, will have a cheeky, naughty, most loyal and brave pet, so long as they are prepared to be patient and give him time."
