Emergency teams were scrambled after an unoccupied car was found in a river near Chirk.
Emergency services were rushed to Pontfadog early this morning (November 18) after a car was reported to have crashed into the river.
Police, Fire and Ambulance teams were all on the scene this morning. The large presence in the village lead to disruption to local roads for those travelling this morning while officers attended the incident. Pontfadog lies on the River Ceiriog.

According to North Wales Police, the car was found to be empty as the driver had not been inside when it entered the water.
As a result of this police have confirmed that “no serious injuries” have been reported.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “At 5.21am this morning (Monday, November 18), we were made aware of a car in the river, following a single-vehicle road traffic collision in the Pontfadog area.
“Police attended the scene, along with colleagues from the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the Welsh Ambulance Service.
“The driver was not inside the vehicle when it entered the water, and no serious injuries were reported.”
