More than 300 members of the Cefn Mawr community gathered at the Cenotaph on Plas Kynaston Lane on to honour the fallen at this year’s Remembrance Sunday Service.
The service, which started at 10.35am, was a tribute to those who died in the First and Second World Wars.
The community came together to lay wreaths and pay their respects.
The event was organised by the community council.
Coordinator, Trina Nicholls-Smith, said: "This was an extraordinary day that showed the very heart of Cefn.
"It’s not just a remembrance of those we lost; it’s a celebration of the unity we have in this community.
"Each wreath, each prayer, and each song represent a thread in the fabric of our community—a beautiful and enduring tribute to those who served.
"To see so many people come together, young and old, fills me with such pride and gratitude."
Chairman of the Cefn Community Council, Phil Vaughan, said: "Days like today bring into focus the spirit of Cefn.
"We stand here as one, remembering our heroes and honouring their legacy.
"This isn’t just a service—it’s a promise that we will never forget.
"Our community’s strength and respect for the past is a testament to their sacrifice.
"I am deeply moved by everyone who came today to pay their respects."
The service featured participation from Councillor Sonia Benbow-Jones, Councillor Derek Wright, Maisie Carman, Miss B. Grey Davies, Derrick Roberts, and local schools, including Ysgol Min-Y-Ddol, Ysgol Rhosymedre, Ysgol Acrefair, Ysgol Rhiwabon, and Ysgol Cefn Mawr.
A bystander said: "The turnout was amazing; there was such a beautiful sense of respect and honour.
"When the wreaths were laid, and the march began, I was moved to tears.
"It was so powerful, watching everyone, from young children to our veterans, come together in this way.
"It’s a day I’ll never forget."
