A NEW restaurant at Eagles Meadow has confirmed that it will open it's doors on Friday.

The owners of the Dog and Pickle pub in Lavister told the Leader in September that contracts had been signed for them to take over the former Frankie and Benny's site in Eagles Meadow.

Frankie and Benny's closed it's doors at the site in Wrexham in 2020, as well as shutting the restaurant on the Plas Coch Retail Park.

It has remained out of use since the closure four years ago, but it will reopen as 'Nouveau' on Friday (November 15) at 5pm.

Owner Steve Lewis said that he had plans to hire around 30 members of staff to work at the new restaurant.

Steve said: "We're looking forward to getting open and setting up. It's been in the works for a few months, but now the contracts are signed it feels like we're finally getting somewhere.

"It's going to be called Nouveau, we were looking around for new names and that translates to 'new' so we decided on that.

"The aim is to be a family focused restaurant.

"The main goal is to offer something for families as their isn't too much of that in the city centre, especially if you wanted to bring your children with you.

"There's been a lot of new things opening at Eagles Meadow in terms of activities, so that is why we've looked to take this on."
