A former Clwyd South MP joined members of a chapel to honour the 35 people associated with the chapel who died in the First World War.
Susan Elan Jones, former Clwyd South MP, joined the members and friends of Mount Pleasant Chapel in Ponciau on November 10 for a special Remembrance Sunday commemoration.
The chapel has a historic roll of honour for the 35 people associated with the chapel who were killed as a result of the First World War.
Chapel secretary Michael Warrington said: "I’ve always thought it extraordinary that this one chapel suffered to this extent.
"It makes you think about how many ordinary people in our area alone lost their lives in this conflict.
"When she was our MP, Susan encouraged us to hold a special commemoration.
"That is something we do now and we were delighted that Susan agreed to read and speak at this year’s event."
As part of the commemoration, Ms Jones read a poem by wartime Private Robert William Jones of Rhosllannerchrugog, and a memorial of Corporal John Harold Jones, one of the Mount Pleasant Chapel members who died in the last battle before the Armistice was signed.
Ms Jones said: "It was a very powerful occasion and I was privileged to take part."
