A WREXHAM business is setting its sights on more growth in 2025.
Based on Rhosddu Industrial Estate, Dubbed Campers specialise in campervan conversions, specifically VW Transporters from T5 to T6.1.
Launching the workshop in January 2020, they were fully booked within a month. Despite the arrival of the covid pandemic shortly afterwards, the family business has gone from strength to strength.
Initially started with Luke Appleby and his dad John, the duo has already moved to bigger premises, and have another four members on the team.
Through the power of social media, Dubbed Campers continues to be discovered by VW owners from all over the UK.
Managing director Luke, 28, from Wrexham, adds: "Some will travel hours for our services."
Dubbed Campers is a one-stop shop for Transporter owners' needs, and Luke adds: "We offer an extensive list of services for the Transporter including - servicing and maintenance, exterior upgrades, lowering, campervan conversions, pop tops, window installs plus much more.

"Our business philosophy of turning away other brands of vans allowed us to develop our skills and services for the Transporters, even with this hyper focused approach we have grown to the largest van converter in the Wrexham area."
Luke, who has always had an interest in cars, initially began the Dubbed Campers brand and social media in about 2017, selling merchandise and stickers. He joined forces with his dad in 2019, to develop the business into what it has become today.
A full conversion can take up to four weeks, and the team work on two to five vans at any one time, each dedicated to their area of expertise.

The vans that end up in their workshop can be delivered new, straight from Volkswagen or be a 20-year-old builder's van.
Luke estimates they have worked on about 1,200 vans since starting.
This level of hard work and dedication has paid off in more ways than one.
Their business philosophy has resulted in them being featured as a case study in a branding textbook by Dr Terry Smith and Dr Tom Williams - Brand Fusion: Purpose-Driven Brand Strategy. This looks at how the business was started using social media and targeting a narrow portion of the market.
With five years under their belts, 2025 is looking bright for the team at Dubbed Campers.

Luke said: "We have more plans to grow and expand our team and equipment. Also, as of January 2025, we will be opening up our services to Ford Transit vans.
"It's taken us time and a lot of research to make this decision but I believe it will be a great asset for the Wrexham campervan community."
