AN ICONIC Flintshire live music venue is set to celebrate its 100th birthday in style.
The Tivoli, in Buckley, turns 100 next year - and is marking it with 'The Centenary Weekender' programme of gigs and shows.
The Tivoli dates back to the 1920s when it was first used as a theatre and cinema.
Since then the venue has undergone several transformations before becoming the "much-loved live music venue" it is today.
Perhaps the most famous band to have graced its stage was Oasis - just two days before the release the band's iconic debut album Definitely Maybe.

Their gig at The Tivoli has gone down in Oasis folklore as one of the band’s wildest, thanks to Evan Dando (The Lemonheads frontman), who invaded the stage while the band played Live Forever, before ending the evening performing an impromptu acoustic show on the venue’s roof.
There is also a story of Liam Gallagher having things thrown at him while on the stage - prompting him to threaten to slap those responsible.
Other massive bands to have played the venue include Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Motorhead.
The birthday celebrations will kick off on Thursday, May 22 with the Big Stars Theatre School bringing their pantomime back to the stage. The afternoon show will be for local Schools, the evening show will go on public sale.
On the Friday (May 23) Madchester band The Inspiral Carpets will take to the stage. Tickets went on general sale on Wednesday (November 6).
The venue is looking for suggestions for a rock band to grace the stage on Saturday, May 24. And on Sunday, May 24 South Yorkshire indie rockers The Sherlocks are playing.
