An event is set to bring festive cheer to the '50 and over' community.

The Christmas Choir and Party will take place at George Edwards Hall in Cefn Mawr on Saturday, November 30, from 1pm to 4pm.

The event is aimed at people aged 50 and over and will feature a performance from the Raise the Roof Choir.

The festive gathering, organised by Cefn Community Council, will be a chance for people to "connect, share in the holiday spirit, and enjoy a delightful afternoon."

Donna Thornley, community agent for the council, said: "The holiday season can be a lonely time for many, especially for our older community members.

"This event is about more than just festivities—it’s about creating a warm, supportive environment where everyone feels valued and connected.

"We're deeply thankful to all who can contribute, whether through donations or by attending.

"Together, we can make this holiday season truly special for those who need it most."

A raffle will be held at the event to raise money for a community band event planned for the spring.

Organisers are asking for donations of raffle prizes, including products, gift vouchers, or services.

Local businesses and community partners are also invited to attend and show their support.

Anyone who can donate raffle prizes or would like to reserve a spot at the event can contact agent@cefncommunityagent.gov.uk.
