A WREXHAM pub has gone big this year for Remembrance Day to raise money for the Royal British Legion and to remember the lives lost.
Manager of the Fairfield Tavern Alice Woodfine is proud of her team for doing what they can this Remembrance Sunday (November 10).
With assistance from Wrexham freelance artist Chloe Dymond Design, the pub has proudly featured a Remembrance display, as well as using decorations and hosting charity nights.
Designer Chloe said: "The cause is very close to my heart, I feel we all somewhere or somehow have family, friends or have known someone who has served in the war that has joined the army. And to be able to honour them each year is a privilege.
"Alice gave me free reign on the design, I looked to Pinterest for some inspiration and I found lots of small ideas that I then put together to create the full window display.
"I wanted something that was artistic that had a nod to our soldiers with the boots and helmet the plane. Of course covered in poppies!!"
Alice added: "The work the RBL do for our service men, women and families is so important so any way that we can support them we will do, the glasses we are selling are so unique, they are lovely.
"Everyone knows someone who served or still serves in the forces and we should wear the Poppy with pride, any help or donations will be gratefully received by the RBL, we have a collection tub on the bar so people can donate as they feel."
The Fairfield Tavern along Erddig Road is one of hundreds of Marston's pubs across the UK offering poppy-themed pint glasses in honour of this year's Remembrance events. Customers can purchase a glass with all proceeds going to the RBL.

The pub will also be hosting a pool tournament at £5 per person to enter on November 7, and a quiz on November 13 at £1 entry per person and maximum teams of four. All proceeds will go to the RBL, and the winning teams on both nights will receive a £40 bar tab.
"The Royal British Legion do amazing work", added Alice. "I will be wearing my Poppy with pride."
Chloe's work is completely hand-painted, and her small business covers north Wales and surrounding areas for businesses and private clients.
