A CHARITY match-funding campaign is lining up some true fundraising champions.

Taking place over November 17 and 18, Quality Moments Matter is a 36-hour event supporting Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children's hospices who have bases in Oswestry and Conwy, that support seriously ill children and their families from North and Mid Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.

The campaign aims to raise £400,000 in that short space of time - money that will allow seriously ill local children to giggle, play, thrive and never be told that things are impossible.

The great news is that every donation made will be doubled by a match funding pot built up by kind businesses over the past year, so one donation can have twice the impact.

Spearheading the fundraising effort are a series of 'Champions' or team leaders who will spread the message of the hospices' work far and wide to drive donations through the Charity Extra platform.

Two such such teams are the Mold Friends of Hope House and Premier League sponsors themselves, Barclays Bank Plc.

On October 31, Barclays brought their famous trophies to display at Mold Library, the perfect chance for the two teams to meet and talk tactics.

David Rowe, from the Mold Friends group said: "I took part in the campaign as an individual last year, but now we have the Friends group formed we are tackling it as a team - together we're stronger."

Barclays Local Specialist, Elin Jones was inspired to sign up and captain a Champion team after visiting Hope House in Oswestry on an open day. After her visit she rallied colleagues from their Wrexham branch and Barclays Local in Mold to take up the challenge.

Fundraiser for Hope House Tŷ Gobaith, Vanessa Marubbi said: "This is such an exciting time for our hospices.

"Everybody is rallying round to do their bit in the build-up and we feel so blessed to have the support of Barclays, our Friends groups and so many generous local people and businesses.

"With every donation being doubled, we really hope we can hit our target and secure our services for the families and children that need us.

"If you would like to join us for this epic weekend then please contact either of our fundraising offices or search Quality Moments Matter online and sign up as soon as possible."
