New research has revealed that some areas in Flintshire have the lowest burglary rate in Wales.
The study, conducted by MoneySuperMarket, analysed millions of home insurance quotes to determine the UK postcode areas with the highest and lowest burglary claims since 2021.
The CH5 postal district in Flintshire, which encompasses Connah's Quay, Shotton, Queensferry, Sealand, Sandycroft, Dobshill, and Ewloe, recorded the lowest burglary rate in Wales and the ninth lowest in the UK.
The rate was calculated at 1.41 burglaries per 1,000 home insurance quotes.

Alicia Hempsted, an insurance expert at MoneySuperMarket, said: "While it can be startling to see it laid out like this, it’s important to remember that taking simple steps to secure your home can help reduce the likelihood of being burgled.
"Our research also shows that burglary claims are trending downwards with the number of claims per 1,000 quotes falling by around 12 per cent in the last year."
Despite the overall downward trend in burglary claims, Ms Hempsted noted that this is unlikely to be reflected in home insurance costs.
She said: "It’s unlikely that people will see this reflected in how much they pay for their home insurance with the average cost of a buildings and contents policy increasing by 18 per cent for the same period, according to our home insurance index."
MoneySuperMarket has offered several tips for preventing burglaries, including fitting decent locks for windows and doors, marking possessions with a UV security pen, installing cameras and automatic sensor lights, and keeping valuables and car keys out of sight.
The study also offers advice on what to do if you are burgled.
The first step is to report the crime to the police as soon as possible and avoid touching anything to maximise the chances of finding fingerprints.
Once a crime reference number is given, a home insurance claim can be made.
Photos of damaged items should be taken before clearing up, and receipts or images of any stolen items should be found.
By following these steps, residents can ensure they are doing everything possible to safeguard their homes and belongings.
Ms Hempsted added: "If you’re looking to save money on your home insurance, compare policies and prices to find the best deals.
"Installing a burglar alarm or upgrading old windows and doors can help bring your quote down in price while also making your home more secure."
