A WELL-respected local business has hit the ground running with its new venture following a successful launch at Mold Golf Club.
Mayor of Mold Cllr. Brian Lloyd was joined by Member of the Senedd Hannah Blythyn and more than 120 people in a packed clubhouse; a mix of golf club members and local residents, for a first day of menu tasting, ahead of the launch of a full catering service at the Club.
Mayor of Mold Cllr. Brian Lloyd said: “I was delighted to attend the official launch of The Gathering at Mold Golf Club and sample some of the delicious food that Rick Lee (owner of The Gathering in Mold) will be serving as part of his business expansion.
"Rick taking over the restaurant at Mold Golf Club will be an asset to the golf club and it is such a lovely venue to visit and have a meal overlooking the spectacular grounds. Well worth a visit.
"Mold thrives when its businesses thrive and as Mayor of the town I am very proud of our town and community. Local businesses are the backbone of Mold’s economy.”
Hannah Blythyn MS said: “It is great to see this partnership taking off. Mold Golf Club is a lively and very friendly club in a superb location in Pantymwyn overlooking the Clwydian hills so to combine all the club has to offer with the very popular food from The Gathering is a win win.
"It was a pleasure to be part of the launch and I wish the Club and Rick and his team all the very best for the future.”
The launch was also attended by Chris Gregson Head of Sales at Harlech Foods and representatives of Mold Town Council.
Deborah Barton, Manager of Mold Golf Club said: “If the response to The Gathering at Mold Golf Club in its first few days is anything to go by, members and visitors are in for a treat going forward.

"Rick and his assistant chef Charlie produce excellent food, catering for breakfasts, lunches, fixtures and functions as well as Friday evenings and Sunday lunches. This is a great boost to the Club and to the local area as all are welcome to come along and enjoy what’s on offer, as well as the great views.
“We have a newly refurbished kitchen thanks to grant assistance from Cadwyn Clwyd and a freshly decorated dining room so on every level it’s a very welcome new start.”
Usual opening hours will be 10-4pm Tuesday to Sunday, with functions, club matches and fixtures catered for as required. A Friday evening menu will be available from 4-7pm and Sunday lunch bookings will be from 12 noon.
