TRIBUTES have been paid to a Wrexham mum who tragically lost her brave fight with cancer.
Kayleigh Bradshaw, from Acton, fought Chronic myeloid leukaemia for five years before her brave battle came to an end on October 9 - aged 34.
A loving and devoted mum to eight-year-old George, and cherished sister of Keys, Kara and Kaci - she will be very sadly missed by all who knew her.
Talking about Kayleigh's fight against the disease, Kara said: "She had leukaemia for five years but it went out of control in the last year causing her admissions into intensive care in Wrexham. It progressed into a more aggressive form and she had to be sent to Christie’s cancer specialist hospital in Manchester.
"She had chemotherapy on the drip then progressing blood clots on her lungs that they couldn’t get rid of despite how much they tried.
"For six months she was very poorly in Christie’s - the chemotherapy made her have zero immunity and she was prone to catch absolutely everything. The last four months of Kayleigh’s life were a constant battle of infections and life-threatening situations.
"Three times we were called in the last four months by the doctors saying Kayleigh wouldn’t make it to the end of the week and she battled each and every infection. She defeated all odds and the doctors couldn’t believe the strength and determination in her - she left them in such shock that her body carried on pushing through it all."
She continued: "She was very poorly but still smiled and carried on fighting, believing she wouldn’t leave this world and she would fight until the end for her son, George."
Kayleigh's sisters were called to the hospital on October 8 as her condition deteriorated.
"She was so poorly, she had no more fight left," Kara said.
At 5.50am on October 9, her brave fight came to an end.
Kayleigh's mum, Kay Adamson, tragically died of a Covid-associated pneumonia in 2021.
Kara said: "Kayleigh reunited with my late mum - whom she longed for since losing her.
"We are all so heartbroken, she had her whole life ahead of her and we loved with all our heart. Kayleigh leaves behind her son, George, who she loved incredibly and he got her through the hardest of days.
"The only comfort we take from this is knowing she is now with our mum in a better place."
A GoFundMe page set up to help with funeral costs raised nearly £3,500.
Kara added: "Kayleigh was always so full of life - even towards the end she was always laughing and smiling. She was everyone’s friend and had so much love to give.
"Our lives won’t ever be the same, Kayleigh’s left a hole in so many people’s hearts in the community. We are struggling as a family to come to terms with the loss and the heartbreak this has caused us as a family.
"Kayleigh will forever live on in her little boy, George, and we will cherish him forever. We will never accept the loss of Kayleigh, she will forever be missed and our hearts are truly shattered."
Kayleigh's close friend, Georgia Crewe, said: "My beautiful best friend, I am lost for words and still can’t believe you have gone. I’m so glad we had a girly sleepover the week before you passed - I’ll cherish those last memories with you forever.
"You are an inspiration to so many people you have been so unbelievable strong you fought right till the end. You were so determined and brave - I haven’t met anyone quite like you.
"You didn’t deserve to die at such a young age - the world can be such a cruel place at times. You never know what’s round the corner, time is so precious."
Kayleigh's funeral takes place at St Giles Parish Church in Wrexham on October 28 at 1pm.
