ON these dark and moody autumnal nights, it's easy to get spooked, especially as we head towards Halloween, the pinnacle of all things creepy.
Our corner of North Wales is blessed (cursed?) with many allegedly haunted locations - Caergwrle Castle, Ruthin Gaol, North Wales Hospital, every lighthouse ever - but one stands out above the rest.
Jacobean mansion Plas Teg, in Pontblyddyn, not only looks the part but has been linked to many an unexplained sighting or experience.
One of the most noted has to be that of the Woman in White, a young girl whose quest for love ended in tragedy.
Dorothy Trevor was the daughter of a nobleman who lived at the house and she fell down a well there in the 16th century as she ran to elope with her lover.
Its ghostly reputation even saw Popstars: The Rivals winners Girls Aloud film there with TV presenter and Most Haunted star, Yvette Fielding, for a one-off show.
The period property has previously been open for tours but is currently closed to the public.
With the season of spookiness underway, the Leader asked readers to bewitch us with their tales of Plas Teg.
Sleep with the light on, the responses gave us chills...
• Rachel Sigsworth: "I saw a girl run, it was raining and her hair splayed wildly as she went, it was just before the speed trap now and I knew nothing of the story behind this building. I did afterwards and it shook me!! I had swerved that night and was convinced someone had ran in front of me."

• Mark Price: "Me and my mate saw her on our way back from collage in the 90's. I did see a photo of her on a ghost site years ago but haven't been able to find it since."
• Jan Mapp: "I've been a few times to paranormal nights and had some very active nights. Miss going."
• Nia Roberts: "We did a fair few 'ghost hunting' nights with work, including Halloween night a few years ago. Brilliant night, and I can safely say I've never been so petrified in my entire life."
• Stacey Mccann: "I don't really believe in ghosts but the only time I've ever seen anything really weird was driving past Plas Teg late coming from college. There used to be bad rolling mist across a section of the road, we slammed the brakes on the car because it seemed like the outline of a woman in a grey dress running across from one side to another. We looked at each other and were like 'did you see that?' Very odd!"

• Michaela Edge: "A work colleague of mine was driving home from a night shift and had to slam her brakes as she thought she was going to hit a horse and carriage. I did spend the night there, Halloween night, Very fascinating, could hear what sounded like children running around..."
• Susan Mulhearn: "Stayed the night there with paranormal group absolutely fascinating, was asked who would be brave enough to sit in chair, door locked. I said 'me'. OMG I felt like someone had put a rope over my neck! Was told where I was actually sat was the hatch where they hung people."

• Pauline Roberts: "Did a ghost hunting night there a few years ago, absolutely brilliant night. Lots of table tipping and at one point a table was spinning on one leg. Would love to go again."
• Garry Bolton: "My auntie was a maid there and met her husband who also worked as a groundsman/handyman, they used to tell some tales of what they had seen over the years."
• Shaz Clews: "I went many years ago for a look around, got the chills when we went into the twins' bedroom, would look to go again."
• JP Parker: "My late father told me a story about his encounter with the Woman in White."
• Amy Price: "I saw a lady running across the duel carriageway, couldn't believe it. My friend who was driving didn't, we were on our way to Plas Teg and the guide told us the story of the young girl who is seen going across the road and the story behind it. My friend laughed and said 'Amy has just seen her playing heck at someone running across a busy road'. We then continued with the ghost tour."
• Eifion Parry: "I saw a lady in what I think I remember as a dressing gown just where the dual carriageway is now, me and some of my mates had been getting conkers from across the road. It was on telly that evening or the day after about people seeing a white lady. I told my mum and dad about it and mum said they had said on telly that loads of people had seen her too."
• Sarah Jones: "Best night ever when 10 of us went for my 29th years ago. Can't explain it as you have to experience it for yourself, it opened my eyes, didn't expect anything to happen but loads went on. I'm gutted there's no more ghost tours, I'd love to go again, as it was an experience, all of us on that night will never forget."
But not everyone's experience was quite so mysterious. Eirian Jones added: "Did a sponsored sleepover there in the 1970's for Tech College Rag Week (uni now). Think the only spirits we saw were the ones in the bottles we had."
