A CHARITY Santa Dash is returning to a Flintshire town after several years.

Mold & Buckley Round Table has revealed its plans for Christmas this year - which will include the race on Sunday, December 15.

The fun 2km race around Mold dressed in Santa costumes starts at the Daniel Owen Square. It is £10 to enter and all adults get a Santa suit, a medal and a mince pie. All the family, pushchairs and even dogs are invited to join in the fun. 

Iron triathlon record-breaker Sean Conway will starting the race off, and Matt from Matt Morgan PT will be leading the Santa warm up beforehand. Mold & Buckley Round Table is on look-out for people to help marshal the event, and also potential sponsors.

Starting from Sunday, December 1 every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday before Christmas the charity's Santa float will be travelling around Mold and the surrounding villages of Sychdyn, Northop, New Brighton, Gwernymynydd, Gwernaffield and Pantymwyn.

And for the third year running, Mold & Buckley Round Table will be hosting Christmas Day dinner on Christmas Day, in the Daniel Owen Centre. The free dinner is open to anyone who might be alone on Christmas Day, or for whatever reason might be missing out on a proper dinner.

A spokesperson said: "We're again looking for people that want to help on the day, as well as any table decorations, etc, people might want to be part of the big day.

"As ever any money raised will go back into supporting local community groups and clubs, and also to help put on bigger and better community events."
