A WREXHAM author is releasing his second novel inspired by a love of Christmas next month.
After releasing his debut novel three-years-ago focusing on men's mental health, 34-year-old Leighton Williams from Acton is delighted to be sharing his latest project.
'The Director of Christmas' will be available to buy on November 1 on Amazon, and will immerse readers into the magical childhood nostalgia of Christmas. You can pre-order here.
Aimed to inspire adults and children, Leighton's novel is set inside London toy shop 'Benistines' where the Director of Christmas has decided to retire. Readers can join the festive fun and all-important adventure to find the right person to take over the job.
Speaking to the Leader ahead of release week, Leighton said: "I've always loved this time of year, and I wanted to create a world where people could unleash their inner child.
"One of the main characters, Roy, is named after my Grandfather. I also created the illustrations myself. The whole thing is just completely magical."
His first novel, 'According to Him' was published in 2022 and explores themes of mental health, self-discovery and isolation, a subject the author is keen to explore in his 'emotionally heavier' works.

"It's been a long term dream to write", Leighton added. "I've always been creative and I wanted my second book to be completely different and much lighter and fun compared to my first.
"I am very proud of myself. I think I'll also be taking a break now before I start my next project which I'll keep under wraps for now."
The Director of Christmas will be released on November 1, 2024. You can buy it on Kindle and Paperback on Amazon.
