A WREXHAM community is being asked to pay their final respects to a young boy who sadly died last month.
Nine-year-old Freddie Pritchard from Gresford passed away unexpectedly on September 14 on his way back from a family holiday.
His family and friends have suffered an unimaginable loss, and have received deepest sympathies and support from the Wrexham community in the weeks that have followed.
Following Freddie's death, a fundraising page was set up by family member Jessica Tomlinson to assist with funeral costs, and for part of the funds to be donated to the Cheshire Ambulance Service, Alder Hey and the Countess of Chester Hospital.
A total of £10,300 has now been raised, a wonderful total which will ease the family of financial burdens during an already difficult time.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, October 16 at 12.30pm at All Saints Church in Gresford, followed by a committal at Pentrebychan Crematorium.
Freddie's cortege will travel to church along Chester Road and down High Street.
Family friend Beth Williams has asked the community to wear football shirts, or anything red and colourful, to show their respects, and to mark Freddie's love of Wrexham AFC and Liverpool FC.
Residents will line Chester Road from 12pm to give Freddie a wonderful final journey through the village, "filled with love, cheers and plenty of sound", says Beth.
