ANYTHING IS possible in Wrexham these days it seems and that has now led to talks of one of the greatest footballers of all time possibly becoming involved with the club someday.

The eyes of the world have been on the north Wales football club since actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over as co-chairmen in 2021.

Two promotions and three successful seasons of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary later, and the club has hit unprecedented heights.

People now come from all over the world, including the likes of USA, Canada and Brazil to watch Wrexham play.

And such is the buzz surrounding the club and the STok Cae Ras ground that it has now led to rumours of football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo possibly becoming involved with the Reds in future.

Over the last 20 years, the Portuguese forward has become one of the greatest footballers of all time.

He is the world's leading international goal-scorer with 133 goals for his country and just recently passed the 900-goal mark for his career with current club Al-Nassr (Saudi Arabia).

He is also, of course, held in high regard by former clubs Sporting Lisbon (Portugal), Manchester United, Real Madrid (Spain) and Juventus (Italy) having won countless honours including five UEFA Champions League titles.

But now, some experts are predicting Ronaldo, now 39-years-old, to make the move to Wrexham in one capacity or another in future.

Former Premier League defender William Gallas, who played for the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal, told Prime Casino: "Cristiano Ronaldo to Wrexham? Anything is possible in football in the modern game. It wouldn’t surprise me because money talks and we’ve seen that nothing is impossible these days."

He added: “You see young players going to Saudi Arabia when they would have never left Europe in the past. Footballers and football clubs are now obsessed with their brands too and their sponsors, you can make a lot of money and not just from your wages at your club.

“Now everything is about social media and having millions of followers, and both Wrexham and Ronaldo have huge profiles so why not. I have spoken to my former team-mates about social media and everything that goes on now and it feels like a different world. So many things are now possible.

“Ronaldo is more than just a footballer, he’s a product and he’s also still scoring so many goals on the pitch. There will be so many clubs still happy to have him.”

Meanwhile, former Liverpool FC star-turned-pundit Mark Lawrenson believes Ronaldo could take on another role at Wrexham.

Speaking to Sports Casting, he said: "“Anything's possible in football these days, even Cristiano Ronaldo playing for Wrexham!

"I would say that it's highly improbable, he's more likely to purchase the club than sign for them in my eyes.

“Wrexham don't seat much more than 10k in their stadium, I can't see him playing to such a small audience in all honesty, that said you'd struggle to get a ticket there if he was playing. He'd fill the stadium anywhere he goes.”
