A MOTHER from Wrexham has expressed her gratitude for the abundance of community support she has received following the sudden death of her partner.
British safety adviser Ryan Evans from Wrexham was killed in Ukraine on August 24 this year.
Mr Evans was part of the reporting crew staying at the Hotel Sapphire, in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine, which was hit by a strike.
Touching tributes were paid to the 'adored' family man and father of four by those who knew him, including his loving wife of two-years, Kerrie Evans.
In the devastating weeks that have followed Ryan's death, Kerrie and their one-year-old son, Logan, have been shown huge amounts of love, sympathy and support.
Over £28,000 has been raised for the family through a Go Fund Me page set up by family friend, Laura Lilley, which will support them both as they face an unimaginable future without Ryan. See the fundraiser here.
Kerrie said: "The support from people has meant I am not alone. I have had an abundance of people to talk to and confide in. For the financial support, I am now a single mum, that can only work part time due to nursery picks etc, and I do not have family near by who can help with that. Child care is now all on me and friends.
"The financial support means I don’t have to worry when my car breaks down ( ironically like right now my car is in a garage for I don’t know how long for and I now have no means of transport).

"The financial support also means I am able to make sure Logan will have a stable roof over his head, for years to come and food on the table, as life isn’t cheap and Logan goes through clothes faster than I can buy them.
"Nobody will ever understand how grateful I am, from my best friends to strangers, they have saved me from so much worry, during a time I don’t know how to function."
Kerrie describes the funeral as "an incredible day" due to an overwhelming turn-out of people who came to show their respects.
She continues: "It just shows that Ryan was a true gentleman for all these people to come together and help me, words can not begin to explain my gratitude."
Our thoughts continue to be with Ryan's friends and family during this time.
