A NEW HOTEL is set to offer a base for adventurers and more to enjoy a place to rest for the night in Llangollen.
The Bearded Men Adventures (BMA) team have taken over part of the Gales building in the town.
And while the bar and restaurant and some of the rooms above still remain part of the latter, the BMA team has launched its new 'Without a Paddle' hotel service in the rest of the building.
BMA was formed in 2018 by Jason Rickwood and Hugh Luckock who had been freelancers for over a decade.
Having set up camp on Parade Street in Llangollen in 2021, the business offers an array of adventurous activities for all to enjoy, from aqueduct canoeing to archery and axe throwing.
BMA also caters to bespoke weekend packages for stag, hens, corporates and more.
However, Jason and Hugh are now 'very excited' to be adding a hotel to the brand's expanding ranks.

Jason, originally from Brynmawr in South Wales, said: "We were constantly being asked about accommodation and suggesting options. The opportunity arose to take over the hotel and we went for it.
"It's scary but we know we can fill it and make it work. It's also nice for the client to be able to book through one provider.
"The hotel was named Gales before, which still remains as the bar, restaurant and remaining rooms above. We have simply taken one side of it, so people can still get to Gales for a steak and wine!"
On the reason for choosing the name, Jason added: "We have again tried to be a bit quirky and different. It does stem from the saying "Up S***s creek, without a paddle", which we do use a lot within BMA and whilst rafting on the River Dee!
"We are aiming to provide great customer service, easy booking capabilities and clean modern rooms. We also hope to also provide Kayak and bike storage for visiting guests."
