A FITNESS company promoting world class strength training has confirmed a second branch will soon open to the public near the Flintshire border.

The Meritor Fitness Club opened in Llay back in 2015 and has been a huge success among customers and fitness enthusiasts in the village.

As of November 1, a second branch will open in Saltney to the first 100 members. The gym will then open to the general public on January 1 2025, confirms founder Michael Irwin.

James Wilkinson and Sophie Freeman will manage the Saltney site located at the Central Trading Estate, just five-miles from Chester's city centre near the Flintshire-Cheshire border.

A spokesperson said: "The Meritor Gyms have the highest highest standard of strength equipment and cardio in the world, and we have multiples of each type of machine so people are never waiting for machines.

"This combined with impeccable cleanliness attitude and a family gym run type environment is what we consider to be our best traits."

The early-bird crew will have access to approximately 60% of the equipment by November 1, with 40-machines spread evenly across the gym, including cardio, weights and body masters.

A further 10 machines will be delivered mid-November, with an additional 23 to be installed in December in time for the grand opening on New Year's Day.
