A POWER cut is affecting an area of Flintshire today (Sunday, October 13).
Scottish Power has said the outage is affecting the CH1 and CH4 areas of Chester and Saltney.
Areas affected include Grosvenor Street area of the city centre, as well as Westminster Park, Lache and Saltney.
There are reports of traffic lights failure in Saltney, and that Morrisons and Asda supermarkets in the town have been forced to close as a result of the outage.
A Scottish Power spokesperson said: "There is a power cut affecting the CH1 and CH4 postcode areas of Chester. We had no advance warning of the power cut and only became aware of it at 10.57am.
"Restoration is taking longer than expected because of ongoing network checks and investigations and our team are now working to get your electricity supply back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 4.30pm.
"Please speak with us if you are aware of any damage to the network or if this information does not apply to you. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
