A CONCERT marking the 90th anniversary of the Gresford Colliery Disaster will go to help renovate a vital enterprise in Wrexham.
More than £2,000 was raised from the event, which will help support the Wrexham Miners Rescue Station.
The concert was held at St Giles' Parish Church, in Wrexham, just one of a number of community events held to commemorate the 90th anniversary.

The disaster saw 266 men killed when an explosion and underground fire hit Gresford Colliery on September 22, 1934.
The series of anniversary events, which had the umbrella title Remembering Gresford, was jointly organised by Wrexham Miners Project and New Sinfonia, the flagship orchestra of North Wales.
The Gresford Community Concert involved a night of music from various local musicians, including The Declan Swans, Fron Male Voice Choir, Llay Welfare Band, Ysgol Clywedog Steel Pans and The City of Wrexham Brass Band.

Tickets from the sell-out concert raised a total of £2,160, which will be used to support the renovation work at the community-focused Miners Rescue Station on Maesgwyn Road.
As the cheque was handed over, David Thompson, vice-chairman of the Wrexham Miners Project, said he and his fellow trustees would in particular like to thank Jonathan and Robert Guy from NEW Sinfonia for bringing the programme of music together, the collection of miners' portraits and for compering the concert.

He paid tribute to all the performers and to Humphrey Ker, patron of the Wrexham Miners Project and Kevin Wynn, the Project coordinator for their enthusiasm and support for the concert.
He added: "We also thank everyone who donated and attended the concert."
In addition to the community concert, the Remembering Gresford series of events included exhibitions, services of remembrance, a candlelit vigil, and a new opera, Gresford: Up from Underground, written by NEW Sinfonia co-founder Jon Guy, which was performed to a full house at St Giles' Church.
