A CAFE and bistro has joined forces with a Flintshire golf club to operate its second premises.
The Gathering, an award-winning coffee shop and bistro based in Mold town centre, is to add a new string to its bow by taking over as caterer at Mold Golf Club in Pantymwyn.
A popular business, The Gathering is run by Rick Lee with 10 staff and has been operating for over four years.
Rick said: “I am excited to have this opportunity to expand my current operation. I will be looking after the catering needs of Mold Golf Club members, visitors, social events and functions and The Gathering customers will now have two venues to choose from if they fancy a change.
"Many will likely enjoy the view and setting at Mold Golf Club. It is a very friendly and welcoming club in a great location with stunning views across the Clwydian hills."
He added: “We will be introducing a breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea menu, similar to our offer in the town centre and we will also be re-introducing the club’s popular Fish & Chips Friday and Sunday lunches with one change in that it will be a served lunch rather than a carvery.
"A Christmas menu will be advertised soon and we will be taking bookings for Christmas lunches.”

Deborah Barton, manager of Mold Golf Club said: “We are thrilled to be working with The Gathering and can’t wait for Rick to start. It will be a great boost to our members to link to a business with such a strong brand and great reputation and to have such excellent food available to us.
"We have been fortunate to secure a grant from Cadwyn Clwyd to completely refurbish our golf club kitchen so the launch of The Gathering at Mold Golf Club ties in perfectly with the timing of this. Our kitchen refit will be completed by the weekend of October 12 and The Gathering will be starting officially on Tuesday, October 15.”
Usual opening hours will be 10-4pm Tuesday to Sunday, with functions, club matches and fixtures catered for as required. A Taster Day open to all will be held 1pm to 5pm on Tuesday, October 15 in conjunction with Harlech Foods.
