Welsh learners are being given the opportunity to test their language skills in the great outdoors.

The Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscapes have joined with Menter Iaith Wrecsam a Fflint to host guided walks through some of the area's iconic locations, all conducted in Welsh.

A successful walk has already been held at Ty Mawr Country Park, and more are scheduled for this month.

The first will take place at Loggerheads Country Park on October 10 at 2pm, followed by another at Chirk Castle on October 28, also at 2pm.

Both events are free, and Welsh learners of all levels are welcome to attend.

Councillor Alan James, Denbighshire cabinet lead member for local development and planning, said: "We do have some fantastic iconic locations in the National Landscapes area to explore, and this is a really good initiative to help support the Welsh language.

"The idea of these walks is to show people just a few of these iconic locations across the National Landscape, while also giving people a comfortable outdoor space to practise speaking in Welsh."

The walks aim to help people learn Welsh and boost their confidence in speaking the language while exploring some of the National Landscape's most iconic destinations.

The events are organised in partnership between Menter Iaith Wrecsam a Fflint and the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscape.
