TWO Flintshire-based pubs are opening their doors to anyone in need of a hot drink and warmth this winter.
As the cold weather approaches and the dark nights draw in, the teams at The Black Lion on Mold Road in Buckley and Red Lion on Wrexham Street in Mold understand how difficult the winter months can be.
In an act of kindness, both establishments have reminded all customers and residents in the local communities that their doors remain open should anyone be in need of a hot beverage, free of charge, or a listening ear.
Managed by Marstons, the two pubs joined forces back in October 2023 with landlords Mark Thomas and Andy Cooper aiming to introduce family-friendly pubs there to support the local community.
Previously speaking to the Leader, landlord of six-years Mark said: "Team Black Lion and team Red Lion play a vital part in our community. We intend to make the people of Mold smile, like we do with the people of Buckley.
"The people make our pubs. A pub is your home and should be looked after."

After re-introducing the winter initiative over the weekend, Mark added: "I believe in community our community makes our pub what it is.
"In difficult times we need people around us to support one another. The Black Lion has done that for many years and will continue to for many more."
It has previously been a huge success for those needing a helping hand in the Buckley and Mold communities, and this year will be no exception.
