I VISITED the Christmas Farm in Wrexham as they prepare to launch their Halloween event tomorrow (October 5).

The Christmas Farm, situated between Llay and Abermorddu has been up and running for three years, hosting a range of seasonal and festive events each year.

Tomorrow it starts it's Halloween events which includes pumpkin picking, a maize maze as well as reindeer feeding, marshmallow toasting and more.

On Friday (October 4) I went down to meet Clint and Rich Shaw, owner and manager of the site to see how things were shaping up in time for the spooky season.

The pair were putting the final touches on the main area where customers can buy hot drinks and toast their marshmallow's on the fire.

Clint and Rich explained how they wanted to provide somewhere for people to come and not be priced out enjoying themselves.

Entrance to the farm to enjoy the Halloween treats is £3, with the costs of pumpkins and drinks on top of that.

The farm will be open from 10am until 4pm each weekend in October, as well as opening for the last week of the month in the lead up to Halloween.

After being shown around the main area, I was taken over the bridge into the pumpkin filled field.

Work has been ongoing since May to prepare the field ready for the spooky season, with 11,000 pumpkin seeds being planted by hand.

In total there is 2.1 miles of pumpkins on the site and over 20 different types to pick from.

There is also an 8ft maze to tackle in the same field, before or after you've picked your perfect pumpkin.

Around 6,500 people visited the farm last October to enjoy the activities, with it getting more support each year, there are chances that number could be surpassed.

With all the different activities on offer it is certainly worth a visit this month.
