A NEW play area was officially opened in Wrexham last week after years of campaigning.
Price’s Lane in Rhosddu revealed it's new play area following it’s opening last week, following extensive consultation.
Children and teachers from Rhosddu Primary School, Rhosddu Community Council members, Cllr I David Bithell, officers from Wrexham Council, local police and representatives from contractors, Wicksteed Leisure, all turned out to mark the official opening.
The play area was designed by Wicksteed Leisure following extensive consultation with children at the local school.

Children were asked what they wanted to see in their new play area. They specifically asked for:
- group swing
- multi-unit
- climbing wall
- banister slide
- aerial spinner
- buddy board
- multi user see saw
- activity panels
- agility trail
- surf rider
Given all of this information, various designs were produced and the children were given the opportunity to choose their favourite.
Cllr Bithell OBE, said: “I’ve been campaigning for a new play area in Rhosddu for many years and am really pleased with the final result. We now have a place for toddlers and children of all ages and abilities to play together.
"I would like to thank all involved with this project including Rhosddu Community Council for funding the work and Wrexham Council for their support in managing the project.”
