MCDONALD'S is celebrating 50 years since its first restaurant was opened in the UK.

Since opening its first restaurant in the UK, nestled in Woolwich, London all those years ago, the brand's operations have grown to 1,435 restaurants.

Nowadays, 'Maccies' serves almost four million customers every day, with the support of its 200 franchisees and over 171,000 crew members.

McDonald’s UK also recently announced plans to open over 200 new restaurants in the next four years that will create more than 24,000 new jobs, signaling a £1 billion investment from McDonald’s and its franchisees in the UK and Ireland.

With birthday celebrations in full swing, it got us at the Leader thinking; 'Which McDonald's sites in Flintshire and Wrexham rate as the best?'.

Here's what we found out via TripAdvisor's reviews.

FLINTSHIRE

Among the best McDonald's you will find in Flintshire is over at Lloc, near Holywell (A55 Junction 31).

One customer said: "Been twice in the last five days. Used drive thru.. Both times very quick.. And the product was hot and well put together. Staff are incredibly efficient and pleasant. Best McDonald's I’ve visited in a very long time."

Another McDonald's site which received good reviews from customers was the Northop Hall (A55 expressway) restaurant.

One satisfied guest wrote: "Faith in McDonald's renewed. I was pleasantly surprised to have eaten one of the best tasting UK McDonald’s I can remember in a long time."

They added: "Fries were perfect and the double quarter pounder looked like the picture and most importantly was very tasty. I could knock a point off for waiting in a bay but I would have happily waited double the time since the wait was worth it. The team you have on at 8pm on a Tuesday need a pay rise."
