A NEW dog play park has opened its doors in Flintshire.

Cei Meadows dog park is located on Mold Road, Connah's Quay - opposite Bryn Gwyn Lane.

It has three paddocks, each with unique surroundings and all are around 1.5 acres. Some have agility equipment and sandpits for enrichment plus a picnic table so people can have a sit down during their visit.

(Image: UGC) Jane Butcher, who runs the site along with her husband Carl, said: "The initial response has been fantastic, local people have said they have longed for something of this size nearby to bring their dogs and exercise them in safe surroundings.

"Being patrons of dog parks ourselves, we have tried to create what we think people are looking for.

"We've been astounded at just how popular our area for reactive/nervous dogs has been and people have said they're relieved they finally have somewhere to go where they don't have to keep a lookout for other dogs."

She added: "This has been five years in the planning for us, locating suitable land and going through the planning process but were determined to offer something people and their dogs enjoy, we will be continually improving and adapting."
