THE FAMILY of a young man from Wrexham have carried out an emotional walk to preserve his memory on the one-year anniversary of his death.

Bailey Jones died on September 27 last year, two days after suffering a severe bleed on the brain.

His cause of death was given as “traumatic brain injury due to a fall from a vehicle”.

The 20-year-old was a devoted Wrexham fan who was well-known and much-loved in the football community and beyond.

Over the weekend, Bailey's family took part in a walk to remember him as the anniversary of his death approaches this month.

His dad, Jamie, says that - as well as being a way to 'keep busy and distracted', the walk was also a way of paying tribute to his 'incredible' son.

On Friday (September 27), they walked to visit Bailey's resting place a year on from his death.

Taking a walk up Snowdon, mum and dad - Ann-Marie and Jamie - posed for a photo with their flag which featured a Wrexham AFC badge, Bailey's face and the words 'Forever in our Hearts'.

They then went to watch the Wrexham AFC match at Leyton Orient (which ended 0-0) the next day, just as Bailey would have done.

Jamie said: "Keeping ourselves busy and distracted was the aim and we more than achieved that. Friday, we went to visit Bailey at his resting place and let a heart balloon off for him.

"We knew it was going to be a difficult day and decided to take a walk up Snowdon/Llanberis route in memory of Bailey so we could take a photo with our poster/ banner of Bailey.

It felt like it's always sunny for Bailey."

He added: "We then made our journey home with a stop off for a pint so we could raise a glass for Bailey. An early night was needed as we faced another long day Saturday driving down to Leyton orient supporting Bailey's beloved reds.

"We would like to thank everyone for there amazing support over this last year - family, friends, Bailey's friends, even people we never knew, you have all been amazing.
