FOUR PEOPLE were taken to hospital following a crash in a Wrexham village yesterday evening (September 27).
Emergency services were called to an incident in Overton shortly at 6.55pm, after a car had collided with a tree stump.
While three people had been able to get out, one person remained trapped, resulting in efforts to remove a door to the vehicle and extricate the casualty.
Three people were taken to hospital by the Welsh Ambulance Service, while another was airlifted to hospital by a Wales Air Ambulance out of Welshpool.
North Wales Police and North Wales Fire & Rescue Service also attended.
A spokesperson for Ellesmere Fire Station said: "At 18.55 on Friday 27th September, we were mobilised alongside North Wales crews to reports of an RTC, Persons Trapped in Overton.
"On arrival we found that a car had collided with a tree stump, and whilst 3 casualties had been able to self extricate, one person remained trapped.
"Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove a door from the vehicle before using heavy duty rams to roll the dashboard away from the casualty, allowing full access and extrication.
"3 casualties were transported to hospital by land ambulance, with one being conveyed by the air ambulance based in Welshpool."
