A low deposit route to homeownership is available on selected new homes in Rhosrobin.

Castle Green Homes has announced that a small number of properties at its Llys y Coed development are within the £300,000 price cap for Help to Buy Wales.

This government-backed scheme aims to make owning a home more affordable.

A recent report from the Home Builders Federation highlighted that more than 14,000 households have been supported to buy a house using the Help to Buy Wales scheme.

Castle Green Homes sales director Sian Pitt said: "Thousands of people across Wales have used Help to Buy over the last decade – the majority of them were first-time buyers.

"Some of our homeowners at Llys y Coed have taken out an equity loan using the scheme, but we’re finding that many people don’t realise that Help to Buy is still available and that it isn’t just for first-time buyers.

"It’s also a great way for people to return to homeownership after a change of circumstances or perhaps to make that next step on the housing ladder, providing they’ve sold their previous property subject to contract."

Ms Pitt added: "Figures from the Office of National Statistics suggest the average price of a detached home in Wrexham is £293,000.

"Our new homes in Rhosrobin are competitively priced in comparison.

"Take into account that they benefit from a quality specification, without the need to spend money on repairs and renovations and are also some of the most energy efficient homes available and the advantages of buying a new home soon add up."

Help to Buy Wales offers the chance to secure a new home with a 5 per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage, with the remaining 20 per cent covered by an equity loan, which is interest-free for five years.

Applications for the scheme are available until March 31, 2025.

The final date for legal completion under the scheme is December 19, 2025.

Homes in Rhosrobin eligible to be purchased using Help to Buy Wales include the three-bedroom semi-detached Marlow, priced from £274,995; and the three-bedroom detached Oxford and Stratford house types, priced from £289,995 and £299,995 respectively.

The Oxford features a lounge at the front, with an open plan kitchen and dining room spanning the width of the rear of the property.

French doors open out onto the garden from this sociable space.

A cloakroom and handy storage cupboard complete the ground floor.

Upstairs, all three bedrooms are a good size.

The main bedroom benefits from an en-suite to complement the family bathroom.

Castle Green’s new homes in Rhosrobin are ideally placed between the Welsh mountains and the lower Dee Valley, and just 10 minutes by car from Wrexham city centre.

Show homes at Llys y Coed are open daily from 10am to 5pm.
