AN AUTHENTIC Indian takeaway business based in Wrexham has received a disappointing food hygiene rating.

Following an inspection conducted by the Food Standards Agency on August 20, owner of the Curry Kitchen has admitted to being 'shocked' over their one-out-of-five star rating.

(Image: Curry Kitchen) The business offers a Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine, and prides itself on its top quality and homemade delicious dishes.

Owner Fatan Ali said: "We are shocked. We are proud of our chef, he is experienced and hygiene trained.

"Our kitchen is clean and we cook very fresh and tasty food for the people of Wrexham.

"We appreciate our customers and curry lovers. Improvements have been made and we are waiting for a reinspection."

Located on Darby Road in Brynteg, it frequently receives praise and from customers on social media.

A customer on Tripadvisor shared a review earlier this year which read: "Second time ordering. Piping hot, really friendly staff, and lovely original food. Will order again and recommend."

The business strives to deliver the best value for money and takes all feedback on board to constantly improve their services in Wrexham, leading to the launch of a new online ordering website.

A follow up inspection will be arranged by the Standards Agency over the coming weeks.

The Curry Kitchen is open six-days a week with the exception of Monday, from 4.30/5pm until 10pm.
