THE TOP 100 pubs across the UK have been revealed after experts were consulted by The Daily Mail.

To compile the list, some of the biggest names in the British food and drink industry were consulted, including Tom Parker-Bowles, Raymond Blanc, Michael Roux Jr and Prue Leith.

Hundreds of online reviews were also scoured, as well as food and drink experts being asked.

In Wrexham, the pub making it to the Top 100 list is The Boat at Erbistock. A traditional, friendly and inviting Grade II village establishment serving all the delicious classics.

The Boat Inn enchants diners with its scenic riverside setting, often described as peaceful with stunning views. The restaurant's menu receives accolades for its variety and delectability, serving high-quality, beautifully presented dishes. It is the perfect pit stop for walkers, bikers and dog lovers.

The establishment has been around since the 17th century, situated on the banks of the River Dee. It was once a two structured building, converted into a single use building during the 19th century.

There are five cask beers on tap, a daily menu and highly-praised Sunday roast available. With plenty of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available, there is something for everyone on the menu, offering classic dishes we all know and love.

The building and it’s vernacular character, with random rubble walls, well- proportioned fenestration and series of cellular rooms with open fires, are all part of its aesthetic appeal.

Despite the fact that many of the timbers are re-used within the building, the combination of dark timber, the slate floor and the chimneypieces all contribute to a rural idyll that is attractive to many visitors.

It has received an impressive 4.5 stars from over 500 reviews on Tripadvisor alone, with a five-star rating for its food and atmosphere.

The one other establishment in north Wales making it to the Top 100 list is The Cottage Loaf in Llandudno. Another popular spot among locals and tourists along the coast.

Another nearby honourable mention goes to The Cholmondeley Arms in Malpas, Cheshire.
