A proposal has been made by the Post Office to close the Kingsmills Road, Wrexham branch and merge it with the Bryn Hafod Post Office on Prince Charles Road, Wrexham.
The proposal is due to the expiry of the current lease on the Kingsmills Road unit, and the resignation of the Bryn Hafod postmaster.
The new merged branch would be known as Prince Charles Road Post Office, pending consultation, and would be run by the existing Kingsmills Road postmaster.
Outreach services run by the Bryn Hafod postmaster in Marchwiel, Bangor Is Y Coed, Rossett, Penley, Higher Kinnerton, and Cockshutt will close from the week commencing Monday, November 11.
There are no current plans to replace these services.
Alternative branches suggested by the Post Office for the above locations are: for Marchwiel, Pentre Maelor Post Office or Wrexham Post Office; for Bangor Is Y Coed, Pentre Maelor Post Office or Wrexham Post Office; for Rossett, Gresford Post Office or Llay Post Office; for Penley, Hanmer Post Office or Ellesmere Post Office; for Higher Kinnerton, Dodleston Post Office or Broughton Post Office; and for Cockshutt, Ellesmere Post Office or Wem Post Office.
The new branch would be a main style branch, operating from two screened counters and selling cards and stationery.
Opening hours would be Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5.30pm.
The Bryn Hafod Post Office is scheduled to close on Monday, November 18, at 5pm.
The Post Office is inviting feedback on the proposed changes until November 5.

The Wrexham Post Office in WHSmith on Hope Street - 0.5 miles from the Kingsmills Road branch - has been suggested as a more convenient alternative for some customers.
