Flintshire County Council is considering two planning applications affecting conservation areas.

The first application involves installing a photovoltaic array and battery system at Cilcain Village Hall.

The second proposes erecting a new garage at Park Cottage, Padeswood.

The council will make a decision on these applications no earlier than October 20.

Anyone interested in these proposals can view the applications and related documents at County Hall, Mold, or online at the Flintshire County Council website.

Comments or objections can be submitted in writing to the chief officer of Planning, Environment, and Economy at Flintshire County Council before the decision date.

In other news, Flintshire County Council has announced proposed changes to the fees for private hire and hackney carriage licences, set to take effect from November 1.

The proposed fees for a one-year new or renewal private hire operator licence will be £296.56, while a five-year new or renewal licence will cost £706.70.

The administration fee for changes is proposed to be £102.32.

For private hire or hackney carriage vehicles, the new licence fee is proposed at £117.60, while the renewal fee is set at £93.48.

The public can view a copy of the notice at the Flintshire County Council offices and online at Flintshire.gov.uk for 28 days from the date of notice which is Tuesday, September 24.

Anyone wishing to object to the proposed fee changes must do so in writing by noon on Friday, October 24.

In Wrexham, several roads will experience temporary closures due to roadworks.

The B5106 Newbridge Road will be closed for resurfacing works starting October 9 and continuing until October 30, or until the works are completed.

The B5431 Smithy Road will also be temporarily closed for drainage improvements beginning October 9, with the work expected to take around three weeks.

The B5102 High Street will face temporary prohibition and suspension of waiting restrictions for roadwork completion starting October 10.

Rhosddu Industrial Estate in Wrexham has a temporary closure in place for essential roadworks, with the order effective until October 31.

The respective councils have assured that alternative routes will be signposted locally for the duration of the closures.

Wrexham Council have also announced that A483 Junction 1 to A539 Ruabon will face a temporary traffic prohibition for essential works to be carried out.

It will come into place on October 6 and last until October 9, or until the work is finished.
