PUBLIC toilets in a Flintshire town have been closed following an incident, with the potential to remain permanently shut.
Residents of Buckley have expressed their disappointment this week following the closure of public toilets in the area.
A notice has been placed outside the toilets, located to the rear of the public library on Padeswood Road, that reads: "These public conveniences will be closed until further notice due to the actions of individuals who have created a public health risk which is significant in its nature."
A spokesperson for Buckley Town Council said: "I can confirm that the police have been informed of the incident and vandalism in the Buckley Public Convenience, which sadly, will remain closed in the short term.

"The matter will also be discussed at the upcoming council meeting scheduled for 24/09/2024.
"A decision will be taken on Tuesday night relating to keeping the toilets open or closed. If the council agrees to open them, then it won’t be straight away as there will be repairs to be undertaken first."
North Wales Police have also been made aware of the situation, and an investigation is ongoing.
An update on the council's decision will be confirmed next week.
