MEMBERS of a Wrexham gardeners' club enjoyed some expert knowledge during a recent outing.
Chirk Gardeners' Club had an interesting visit to Ashwood Gardens and Nursery, where they were given a guided tour by one of the gardeners, who explained how the garden was made, how they look after the amazing trees and group plant combinations.
The club will return to normal talks on Monday, September 30, when Sue Clarke will be giving a talk on hardy geraniums, called The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. On Monday, October 28, Susan Nicholas will be talking about Plants for Health and Happiness, covering medicinal plants, herbs and spices and plants for seasonal colour.

The club year will end with Advolly Richmond from Gardeners' World, coming on Monday, November 25 to tell members about her new book of flowers. She will be bringing copies for sale and the club will be holding their Christmas raffle.
All talks start at 7pm and are held at the Parish Hall in Chirk. You can join in September for £5, which will cover the three talks and refreshments. Otherwise, entry is £3 per talk. The club can be contacted on chirkgardenersclub@gmail.com
