ONE OF football's most famous names has hailed the atmosphere at Wrexham's latest game as 'amazing'.

David Beckham was in attendance for Birmingham City's 3-1 EFL League One win over the Reds at St Andrew's on Monday evening (September 16).

He sat alongside the Blues' investor and NFL legend Tom Brady, while Wrexham co-chairman Rob McElhenney was also at the ground - and praised the Reds fans for their away support.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and England star was left impressed by the atmosphere in the stadium.

'Becks' appeared on CBS' UEFA Champions League coverage last night (September 17), alongside Kate Abdo, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher.

He chatted to the team about his experience at St. Andrew's.

Beckham said: "It was great last night. The atmosphere was amazing. I've not seen an atmosphere like that for a long time."

He added: "Birmingham fans and Wrexham fans were incredible. Tom (Brady) was sat next to me and he was like 'the atmosphere's amazing, but what are they singing?'

"So, I was like, you want to know exactly what they're signing about your team and about what your team are singing about Wrexham? And he said 'yeah' and I told him and he found it very funny."

In his prime, Beckham was one of the world's most recognised footballers.

The former midfielder is one of England's best ever players with 115 caps to his name and won the Premier League six times with Manchester United, as well as La Liga once with Real Madrid.

He then moved to LA Galaxy over in the USA and is now president and co-owner of Inter Miami FC.
