WORK is finally underway on the Newbridge Road landslip repair works.
The B5605 road was subject to a landslip in 2021 during Storm Christoph, and has remained closed ever since.
Its closure has proven a huge frustration for residents, and caused traffic "chaos" in Llangollen and surrounding areas when the A483 viaducts are closed during inclement weather.
Local businesses in Newbridge have also been affected.

£2.8m of Welsh Government funding was secured in April 2022, with hopes the road would be open towards the end of 2023.
A planning application was finally submitted in May by contractor Jones Bros, and some preparation work has already taken place at the site, including the clearance of vegetation and the diversion of BT cables.
Wrexham Council has given an estimated completion date of spring next year - despite concerns of funding.
And last Friday, work finally began on the repairs.
Chirk councillor, Terry Evans, said: "We welcome the start of the work last week, and hope the council/company keep the public informed along the way as it’s been a difficult time for everyone locally.
"I wish the company good luck for the job in hand, and have every confidence it will be completed as soon as possible."
