KELLOGG'S Football Camp hosted in Wrexham has confirmed it will return next year following a successful first-time event.

In partnership with over 70 football clubs across the EFL, Manchester City, Celtic and Rangers, this year's summer football camps have provided fun football sessions with FA qualified coaches, including at Wrexham AFC.

The camps have given kids from 5-15years old the chance to get on the pitch and follow in the footsteps of their footballing heroes.

Having taken part in the Wrexham football camp, Llinos Davies, parent of 9-year-old Macsen shares her son’s experience of his time attending.

She said: "Macsen absolutely loves playing football now, but has only found this passion in the past few years. He only got into it because his friends were playing and wasn’t hugely interested in watching the game after going to a local match - now he can’t imagine life without it!

"His older brother is severely disabled with cerebral palsy, so we shielded as a family for the whole of COVID which were critical years for Macsen’s development where he couldn’t socialise at all or be around other children his age.

"His world can be an anxious one, but football definitely helps massively with his confidence. He used to be very shy and hated doing any school plays or concerts, he didn’t like sports day, but he’s a different child when he’s playing football and it’s amazing to see the amount of positive energy in him when he’s at the camps amongst old and new friends.

"We can guarantee he’ll be happy when he’s kicking around a football or attending a match – he even has a season ticket as he’s such a big fan, and we now really enjoy going to Wrexham games as a family on the weekend.

“Macsen also has a really good relationship with the camp coaches, who are hugely supportive and encouraging.

"As a little boy who’s usually very reserved, the fact that he’ll wave enthusiastically to Megan, one of the Kellogg’s Football Camps leaders, when we go to watch Wrexham play, shows just how much he loves being involved and the impact it’s had on him!”.
