A MARRIED couple from Ukraine are daring to make their business dream come true by launching a new cafe in Wrexham's city centre.

The final preparations are being made for Zerno Cafe, a cosy and inviting space situated at 1-2 High Street offering fresh speciality coffee and homemade treats.

Yaroslav and Oksana Izviekov brought their dream of opening a small business to Wrexham after the war destroyed all plans of opening a cafe in their hometown of Chortkiv, Ukraine.

After searching across Wales for the perfect location to build a new home and business, nowhere felt like home more than Wrexham.

Yaroslav said: "When the war started, we were working on creating a cafe in our hometown of Chortkiv, there was only a little bit left of time left until the opening, but unfortunately all our plans and dreams were destroyed because of the war.

"We arrived in Wales in July 2022. A difficult path of adaptation, longing for home and relatives, acceptance of a new reality. We decided to start living our dream here to help us feel better. Doing what brings us pleasure.

"We were lucky to rent a wonderful space, although we did not take into account all the difficulties that awaited us, we did it! We did everything with great love, with our own efforts. We have come a long way and we are about to open the doors of our cafe to everyone! Please come and support us."

Already, customers have expressed their excitement and support over the new venture.

One individual said: "Looking forward to trying this place and tasting the incredible cuisine of Ukraine."

The plan is to open up this Thursday (September 19), which will be confirmed on the Zerno Cafe Facebook page.
