READERS have been getting in touch with the Leader to share their opinions as Wrexham AFC's home ground becomes cashless.

Last month, the Leader confirmed that the STok Cae Ras was now a card-only venue.

That was announced by the club ahead of their friendly against Fleetwood Town on August 3.

The club said that the move was decided in order to 'improve speed of service'.

The club shop will still accept both card and cash payments, but many have been left disappointed by the change.

Julie Smith told us: "That’s terrible, you’re not even given a choice - which in this day and age is appalling!!"

Nicola Thomas said: "That is an awful decision. Cash is King."

Kevin Cummins wrote: "This is the thin end of the wedge. If my money is no good for Wrexham then I'll take it elsewhere. Short sighted going cashless."

Garry Williams said: "Why? We need cash!"

Others could not see what all the fuss was about.

Such as Kenneth Cremeans, who said: "To all the boomers whining about places phasing out cash... theyre private establishments and have the right to select what forms of payment they accept.

"The same way you're free to not go to those places. However... realise that you're going to have to get with the times as cash is being phased out in favour of far more accessible and lower liability options."

Adam Hughes added: "Most stadiums and venues are exactly the same now."

Jon Felton told us: "Not a drama, it’s 2024!"
