A NEWLY branded Wrexham venue has held its first family event.
Hotel Wrexham, formerly Holt Lodge Hotel, hosted Family Fest last weekend.
The free fun day, from noon-9pm, offered games and activities for the whole family, including inflatables, facepainting, garden games donated by Net World Sport and science workshops by Xplore!. There was also Piccolos Music and The Story-Teller sessions.
The stage was filled all day with talented Wrexham musicians, from chilled acoustic vibes in the day, to full on 'dancing in the dark' to the Rhythm Train.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Blood Bikes were also present, for young budding firefighters to see a fire engine up close, and even try their hand at using a fire hose.

There were trade stalls from local businesses, featuring jewellery, books, cakes and beauty products.
In addition, the was a wide selection of outdoor food on offer, with a barbecue, ice cream van and a range of beverages, including Wrexham Lager. There was even a Wrexham AFC win, live on the big screen.

Visitors on the day also had a chance to view the new hotel plans, including the mood boards showcasing The Savvy Fox, Hotel Wrexham's new restaurant, which it is busy preparing for ahead of its official opening in November.
Speaking of the success of Family Fest, orgainised by the team at Skellon Events, Dan Gillon, one of the owners of Hotel Wrexham, said: "We had an amazing day. We wanted an opportunity to thank everyone for the warm Wrexham welcome we have received.
"It was a memorable day of community spirit, entertainment and activities - even the weather managed to play its part.
"For us it was a celebration of local talent and a great opportunity to connect with neighbours and friends. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves, it was a real treat of a day, and we are looking forward to hosting more family events in the future."
