A HERD of cheeky cows rocked up at a Flintshire venue this morning (September 12), leaving staff members a-moo-sed.

Employees at the Glasfryn, located between Mold and Sychdyn, were shocked to find their new-found furry friends outside the pub.

The herd greeted staff members as they arrived at the Raikes Lane venue this morning.

The cows were also spotted up near the nearby Mold Crown Court and Theatr Clwyd.

The road was closed off for awhile as the farmer in charge came to collect the escape artists.

Glasfryn staff posted the above picture of their new customers to the pub's Facebook page.

They added: "We may be a dog friendly pub but I think we have to draw a line with a herd of cows!!

"Please take care if coming into the pub within the next hour the farmer has been called and the situation is being dealt with the road is currently blocked off while cows are escorted back to the field."

The building was originally built as a judges' residence for the circuit judges attending the nearby courts, although no judge ever actually stayed there.

The building was subsequently sold and became a farm, before later becoming a pub in the late 90's/early 2000's.
